CPR Training Course Descriptions

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP):

The BLS Healthcare Provider Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including doing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It's intended for participants who provide heath care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital. For certified or noncertified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals.
Intended Audience: Healthcare providers, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants and other allied health personnel.

Heartsaver CPR & AED:


The AHA Heartsaver CPR and AED teaches the basic techniques of adult/child/infant CPR and use of an AED. Students learn to use protective barrier devices in CPR and how to manage choking in adult, child and infant victims.
Intended Audience:

Responders like security personnel, fitness trainers, teachers, lifeguards, family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, and those who need or want to learn CPR and how to operate an AED. Ideal for workplace training where having trained lay responders may prove invaluable for the safety of customers as well as employees.
