ROCKLEDGE, FL - Alison Patterson, RN, MS, the director of Quality & Outcomes Management at Holmes Regional Medical Center, has been chosen as a recipient of a 2010-2011 American Hospital Association's Patient Safety Leadership Fellowship.
Only 30 individuals are selected for this intensive, year-long professional education program for senior practitioners to improve cultures of safety and reliability and accelerate positive change in their organizations. The program is one of the nation's foremost leadership development programs in patient safety. Since its inception in 2001, the Patient Safety Leadership Fellowship has equipped countless healthcare leaders with the knowledge and skills of the safety sciences - critical to the delivery of safe, high-quality care.
Patients at Holmes Regional Medical Center will benefit from Patterson's participation in this Fellowship in which she and other Fellows in the program will design individualized action project to improve processes using safety and evidence-based practices that lead to better outcomes and performance.
The Patient Safety Leadership Fellowship is sponsored by the American Hospital Association and National Patient Safety Foundation, in partnership with the Health Research & Educational Trust, Health Forum, American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, American Organization of Nurse Executives, and the Society of Hospital Medicine.
Fellowship activities began in May 2010 and continue through May 2011.
